Bishop Ken and Helen Clarke to Lead Clergy Conference Bp_Ken_and_Helen_Clarke

Bishop Ken and Helen Clarke will lead the annual Clergy Conference (spouses invited!) of the Diocese of Albany, which will take place at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center from Wednesday, September 29 at 5 pm to Friday, October 1, at 1 pm.

The Clarke’s will be speaking on “Vital Lessons for Life and Ministry: Learning from the “Lesser Known’s.”  Here is what they say about their talks:  “There are times when ministry is both a drain and a strain.  Disappointment and disillusionment can quickly kick in.  The heart for ministry has gone.  However, it doesn’t have to be like this.  These sessions will replenish us by drawing life-related lessons from biblical characters.”

Ken Clarke, the Bishop of Kilmore, Elphin and Ardagh in the Church of Ireland, grew up in County Down, Northern Ireland, and was Rector of Coleraine Parish in that Diocese for 15 years.  He enjoys golf and hiking and has a particular interest in church growth and leadership.  Helen Clark is trained as a nurse and counselor.  Her first love is spending time with her four grown daughters and her five grandchildren.  She and Bishop Ken minister together by encouraging younger clergy and their spouses in their personal development.

In addition to the presentations by the Clarke’s, the Conference will have time for worship and catching up with old friends.  There will be time on Thursday for walking and playing golf.
