Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Another week has slipped by fast. Last Sunday had the pleasure of inducting the Rev'd Marilyn Sanders as rector of St Paul's, Albany. The 3pm time cut losses to the Super Bowl. Choir as usual was magnificent. We welcome her and her husband David to the diocese. Wednesday I was the inaugural speaker at the 1st prayer breakfast for the Town of Colonie. This weekend Bishop Dave is leading the Vestry Retreat for Our Saviour's, Lebanon Springs. Sunday he will be at Watervliet and I will be in Troy.

Ask sustained prayers for Fr Alan Macnab, and also for Marty Small (wife of Fr Bill); likewise for Father Walt Collins who has resumed his chemo regimen. Finally, Sean Wendell (son of Fr Marty) has been discharged from the hospital and is recovering.

The nominees for bishop-coadjutor have returned their responses to the Questions set forth by the Standing Committee, and these responses will be posted this weekend. You can access them by going to the election site http://www.albanycoadjutorelection.info/.

This coming Monday these responses will be sent to the printer and the hard copies will be distributed to clerics, lay delegates and parishes.

A reminder to delegates (lay and clerical) that the weekend of the election, March 24-25, is also a big sporting weekend and early reservations for hotels are encouraged. The convention web site lists those who have offered reduced rates. There is also a link for all Albany hotels.

Matters concerning clergy deployment should be directed to Col. Forest Rittgers. Kay Hotaling is no longer in the employ of the diocese.

Reminder: the Forum with the nominees for bishop-coadjutor will be Saturday, March 4 at Christ the King Spiritual Life Center; and Friday, March 24 also at the SLC.

Ash Wednesday, March 1, is the first day of Lent and is a Day of Fast.

Christ Church, 970 State Street, Schenectady is offering a Friday night program of a (meatless) supper, Stations of the Cross, and a series from Crown Ministries on managing your money. Each evening begins at 6pm. Off street parking is available in front and back of the church.

LORD JESUS, you heal our hearts and our lives, our bodies and our minds: give your disciples such confidence in your love and power that we may freely surrender ourselves fully to your divine will. Amen.

In Christ,
+ Dan
