Dear Brothers and Sisters,

Saturday brought 350 clergy and laity to Christ the King for participation in our 1st Candidate Forum for bishop-coadjutor. The eleven nominees rotated and answered a variety of inquiries. It was obvious that folks in attendance had invested time in preparing by reading the responses to the 17 questions posed by the Standing Committee. Many kudos to Patti Gibbons and Forest Rittgers for the outstanding organization. Also to the Staff of the SLC, who also were hosting 2 other unrelated groups. (There were about 520 folks on the SLC campus meeting and eating on Saturday.)

The next forum will be Friday, March 24. Following the Forum, the Nominees will be at the Cathedral from 6:30 - 7:30pm to take individual questions. The Convention opens with Evensong at 7:30.

Sunday Carol and I enjoyed the visitation at Saint John's, Richfield Springs and a lovely luncheon that followed. Monday Episcopal Charities met in the morning, the Standing Committee began with Mass at noon ; in late afternoon the lay and clerical deputies to the upcoming June General Convention met to review the convention calendar and assignments. Tuesday the Deans met, followed by the Holy Hour and lunch. In the afternoon Charlotte Cummings arrived for a meeting and dinner with the members of the Grow the Vision Committee for Christ the King.

This morning I joined the Sisters of St Mary for the Eucharist, met with staff and volunteers, dropped Charlotte at Albany airport and did some office work. Now off to St Peter's Hospital to see Fr Mike Jones of Lake Placid who had bypass surgery early this week. Please keep him and Bev in your prayers.

Canon Darwin Kirby's funeral Mass will be Saturday, March 11, at 10:00am at St. George's Church, Schenectady.

Men's Retreat
Apr 28, 2006 - Apr 30, 2006

The Episcopal Diocese of Albany Men's Ministries and Brotherhood of St. Andrew will host a men's retreat April 28-30th. The theme of the retreat is 'Jesus is Our Compass'. We will be participating in a variety of activities that highlight the importance of keeping our bearings as we navigate through life. The retreat will mix Christian encouragement, worship, fun and team building into a great weekend. Many of the activities will take place outdoors on the CtK grounds. LORD JESUS, draw us this Lent to yourself by following the way of the Cross. Give us the desire to fast, pray and show mercy that your life may become more evident in ours. Amen.
