Update from Bishop Dave

This week, Bishop Bill Love is receiving instruction by his bishop mentor, Bishop Ed Little of Northern Indiana, so I am writing the Update on his behalf.

This past Sunday, I had the pleasure of making a visitation to All Saint's, Round Lake. It was good to see so many familiar faces. When I was Rector of Calvary, Burnt Hills, the two parishes were in a covenant relationship, which caused me to visit and celebrate at All Saints regularly. So it was good to be back. We had a good time of worshiping our Lord; we dedicated the refurbished sacristy; and we ATE! The deviled eggs were noteworthy. Father Don Latham, Vicar, is doing a fine job of leading his parish, and he has good folks to work with.

In the evening, I helped lead the closing of the Women's Cursillo. Almost thirty energized women finished the retreat with great enthusiasm. They will go back to their parishes and be of good assistance in proclaiming and living the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Day after tomorrow, the clergy and their spouses gather at Christ the King for the Annual Clergy Conference. Please pray for us, that we might be renewed in our faith, and recharged to offer leadership in our parishes.

This Saturday morning, Bishop Ed Salmon, who will have just finished leading the Clergy Conference, will lead a Diocesan Development Day. The Conference and Development Day have been scheduled for months, and it is good to see these important events coming to pass. Please make every effort to come on Saturday, 9-1.

This Sunday, Bishop Love will be making a visitation to Christ Church, Cooperstown, and I will be at Grace Church, Waterford. In the afternoon, we will both be at the Cathedral of All Saints for a Regional Confirmation Service. Since this will be in the context of All Saints Evensong, the service should be splendid. Come and worship at 4 p.m.

May God the Father bless you as you offer ministry in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit.
