IMG_1869Fr. Karl came to Glens Falls in August of 2014 and is the Nineteenth Rector of The Church of the Messiah.  Before coming to Messiah, Fr. Karl was the rector at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church in Kinderhook, NY where he and his wife Jen spent three years ministering to the people of Columbia County.  Fr. Karl was born and raised in the capital district until the age of 12 when he moved with his family to Syracuse.  After growing up in a charismatic mega-church for a number of years, he left the church and his faith for the next decade.  In the Spring of 2008, he took a trip to Holy Cross Monastery in West Park, NY where he rediscovered his faith and a call to ministry.  Upon completing his undergraduate degree at SUNY Albany, he and his wife moved to New Haven, CT where Karl recieved his MDiv. from Yale Divinity School and a Certificate in Anglican studies from Berekely Divinity School.  Fr. Karl is an associate of Holy Cross Monastery.
