Deacon at the Cathedral of All Saints
Deacon Susan Plaske answered a call to the diaconate in 2007 and was ordained and appointed to the Cathedral in 2011. She assists in public worship at the Cathedral and, along with the Dean, runs a program called B.L.T. (Bible and Lunch Together) on Mondays at the Empire State Plaza. She also assists the Dean with the Community of the Cross of Nails: a prayer and study group. Deacon Plaske and the Cathedral’s other deacon, Deacon Allen Carpenter, visit people in hospitals and nursing homes with communion and healing prayers. Deacon Plaske oversees mission work locally and in Haiti. She has twice visited an Episcopal School the Cathedral supports in Pouly, Haiti and is planning a trip in 2019. Deacon Plaske is on the Diocesan Mission Board. She is a member of the Daughters of the King and is also their chaplin.
