Father Christopher Brown became the rector of Trinity Church in April 2000. Under his leadership Trinity has grown into a very active church with the addition of healing services, community suppers, many Bible studies and classes throughout the week as well as the expansion of many of our ministries. He also currently serves as the Dean of the St. Lawrence Deanery, and Archdeacon and Canon Theologian of the Diocese of Albany.
Born in Zurich in 1955, Father Brown grew up in the Boston area. Unchurched as a child, he became interested in eastern religions and majored in Asian Studies while attending Amherst College. In his early twenties he came to faith in Christ, and was confirmed in the Episcopal Church in 1979.
He received his Master of Divinity degree from General Theological Seminary in New York City in 1985, and was ordained to the priesthood by the bishop of Massachusetts, The Rt. Rev. John B. Coburn. In 2001, Father Christopher received his Ph.D. in Systematic Theology from Union Theological Seminary in New York City.
Fr. Christopher served in parishes in Pelham, NY, New York City, and Kingston, NY, before coming to Trinity Church.
Father Christopher is married to Starr, and has two children, Amelia and Nathaniel. In his spare time he plays jazz guitar and is an avid reader.
