Sunday services
8:00 a.m. (spoken)
10:00 a.m. (with music)

From the Second Sunday after the Epiphany until Palm Sunday, and during July and August, Masses and other services are held in Saint Benedict’s Chapel, located in the McNary Center (parish hall), adjacent to the church. During the rest of the year, Masses and other services take place in the Church.

Saint Paul’s, Kinderhook, has remained a steady beacon of Christian faith in the Episcopal/Anglican tradition since our founding in 1851. We are “living stones, built up as a spiritual house to be a holy priesthood and to offer spiritual sacrifices that are acceptable to God through Jesus Christ” (I Peter 2:5).  Here God the Father is worshipped with reverence and joy “in the beauty of holiness” (Psalm 29:2); here Jesus Christ is proclaimed “without shame or fear” (BCP 345); here the Holy Spirit bears abundant and manifold fruit (Galatians 5:22-23). Our life together is dedicated to worship; discipleship (through study of the Bible and doctrines); and outreach evangelism.

We worship according to the 1979 Book of Common Prayer and the 1982 Hymnal. From Advent through Holy Week we use “Rite One” (traditional, Elizabethan English); the rest of the year, we use “Rite Two” (contemporary English). We have an ongoing Bible Study; the Brotherhood of Bacon (men’s gathering); the Sisterhood of Serenity (women’s gathering); and a variety of classes depending on the needs or interests of participants. Over the course of the year we engage in a number of food-related and other ministries. We provide hospitality to an open meeting of Alcoholics Anonymous Friday evenings at 7:00 p.m., and space for meetings and gatherings is available for rent at affordable rates.

Our church building, in the “board-and-batten gothic” style of architect Richard Upjohn, was built and consecrated half a mile away in 1852, then reassembled on a new site alongside the rectory. Our congregation is blessed to worship in beautiful surroundings, including five Tiffany stained glass windows. Our real Pearl of Great Price, though, is Jesus Christ, who still calls men, women, and children here to glorify his Father, follow him, and bear fruit in the Holy Spirit.
