“To be a resource to the Diocese, so that individuals with disabilities, feel welcome and an active participant in the worship, Christian education and ministries of their parish.”

The All Are Able Task Force is composed of both clergy and lay members. Some members of the task force are parents/relatives of individuals with various disabilities. There are those who have made working with individuals who have disabilities a career. Regardless of the background of each of the task force members, we all have a passion and ministry to ensure those with disabilities feel welcomed in our parish. And not just welcomed but as our mission statement says “….an active participant in the worship, Christian education and ministries…”
As this is a new ministry for our diocese, it has to have a strong foundation on which to build and that is scripture: “Welcome one another, therefore, as Christ has welcomed you, for the glory of God.” (Romans 15:7) and “Jesus said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” (Matthew 19:14).
In order to build on this foundation, we are requesting assistance from the everyone in the diocese. We hope to hear from as many of you as possible. We would like to know what your needs are. To help accomplish this, we have two surveys. One is for families who have someone with a disability. The other is for clergy, parishioners and lay leaders, to help us gain an understanding of what they might need. These surveys are confidential.
We have three ways the survey can be completed.
