The Rev. Charlotte Collins Reed

Licensed Priest

I was raised in New Jersey to southern parents whose sense of hospitality has informed much of my ministry. We moved from New Jersey to Arkansas when I was 11 and it was in Arkansas that I fell in love with the Episcopal Church and was active in my local parish and in the diocese. I attended a small Methodist college in Arkansas, married Don, earned a Master of Arts in New Testament at Vanderbilt University, had two children, then started seminary in 1994, attending Trinity Lutheran Seminary for one year and Seabury-Western to complete my M.Div. My first call out of seminary was to a three-point cluster of small congregations, one rural and two county seat churches. I was there for three years before being called to Christ Church in Springfield, Ohio (yes, THAT Springfield) which was also my sponsoring parish for ordination. I served there for 15 1/2 wonderful years before being called to Christ Church in Hudson, Ohio, a church that was recovering from two large and very difficult splits over a 10 year period. I retired in 2024 after 8 amazing years that saw growth and healing (despite a pandemic) to live into my vocation as a grandma. My son, daughter-in-law, and two grandchild live in Clifton Park and attend All Saints Round Lake which is what brings me to the Diocese of Albany on a somewhat regular basis.
