Rev. Donna J. Reidt

Licensed Priest

Supply Priest

I was born on September 17,1948 in the mill city of Lowell, Massachusetts. It was there that I was raised in a family that attended the Episcopal Church and went to Sunday School, sang in the junior choir and was involved with the Girls Friendly Society. In my junior and high school years I attended St. Annes School, an Episcopal convent boarding school for girls and later joined the community. These early experiences introduced me to the Holy Scriptures and liturgy in the Anglo Catholic tradition.

For many years I worked in banking in a variety of areas before completing my education. I received my bachelor’s degree from Norwich University with a major in history and Feminist Theology and a Master of Divinity from Episcopal Divinity School majoring in theology.

Throughout my life, in times of struggles and challenges I have encountered the presence of God’s grace. In 2011 I had the privilege of serving at St. Mary’s in the Mountains in Wilmington, Vermont right after Hurricane Irene. There I assisted in working with the congregation who had lost their parish church and needed to find another place to worship. I also helped them to work with developing lay leaders for the ministry of the church as worship leaders and preachers. I later served at St. Paul’s in Windsor, Vermont where the congregation began an outreach ministry by opening a clothing closet for those in need. In my retirement I have worked with a colleague as supply priest for a small congregation in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont until the onset of Covid.

I feel that I have had the opportunity to serve God and God’s people throughout my life regardless of the circumstances. I believe that whatever role we find ourselves in, there is an opportunity for ministry to others.

In my free time I enjoy reading, knitting, gardening and jigsaw puzzles. The best part of all is the opportunity to share my life with my daughter Sharon, son-in-law Eric, daughter Jenn and son Joseph.
