In the Town of Halfmoon, St. Luke’s on the Hill Episcopal Church traces its origins to 1830, when it was organized in nearby Mechanicville. Currently worshiping “on the hill” since 2008, St. Luke’s is home to a welcoming, ever-growing and dynamic congregation from kids to kids-at-heart. Spacious grounds and a newer facility provide for a variety of community outreaches (local and global, youth and senior) to shine Christ’s light and love for all. The parish hospitably hosts many recovery groups for those fighting addictions, as well as an annual bed-build for children in need through the national organization Sleep in Heavenly Peace. Other specific ministries and opportunities include grief support, Operation Christmas Child, Comfort Works (sewing), mens and womens fellowship groups, and a mission partnership with the Anglican Church in southern Madagascar.
