Trinity Church, Potsdam: Encouraged by missionary Daniel Nash, Episcopalians gathered in early 1800s Potsdam and under the leadership of the Clarkson family (founders of Clarkson University), Trinity became a parish within the Episcopal Diocese of Albany in 1835. Today, sustained by nearly 200 years of faith, Trinity strives to create a sacred space where every person, without exception, is genuinely loved and embraced. Built from the red sandstone of Potsdam’s historic quarries and situated on the banks of the Racquette River, Trinity continues to grow with active ministries, expanding programs, and steady fundraising efforts toward essential building repair. Everyone is welcome to tour Trinity’s amazing architecture and view the famous Tiffany windows, to chat with us, and of course to attend worship services. Firm believers in nurturing faith through action, we remain fully committed to serving both Christ and our communities today and in the years to come.
